Toshiba has notched up a unique first with the announcement of the dynabook Qosmio T851/D8CR notebook. You can view 3D glasses-free and there’s a 2D view of content should you so desire. You can do this in separate windows on the same screen. The notebook will be available from July in Japan.
This portable PC makes use of SpursEngine™ image processing technology and functions such as “face tracking” and “active lens”; this results in real time conversion of 2D images into 3D images. The 2D data is obtained from sources such as 2D terrestrial, BS and 110 CS digital broadcasts. This notebook will cost $2780 when it is released in Japan in July.
