Mobeam Promises Redeemable Mobile Coupons / Gift Cards / Tickets – No Need to Print ‘Em
Mobeam has come up with a firmware that promises to revolutionize internet and mobile commerce; I like the concept and have often wondered why such technology did not already come embedded in smartphones.
Anyone who has obtained an online gift card or coupon or anything that can get him a deal, discount, or whatever has always had to get the thing printed and that has been a pain to some and an irritant to others. In many cases you’d end up blowing the discount amount on printer ink if you were not careful with the first print.
Mobi offers its patented technology via a firmware installed in smartphones, this will allow bar code scanners to read data on mobile coupons just as they would read the barcode off a paper coupon. This is, indeed, a huge boost for mobile marketing and in the future smartphones will most likely be rolling out with this technology already present. A big push forward for trade and the zillion odd deals and discount sites out there. Apps developers are free to use the mobeam API to create new apps.
