Huawei Launches MediaPad, Ideos X3, and Sonic in India
Huawei has introduced the MediaPad tablet and two smartphones in India. These are the Ideos X3 and the Sonic. All three Android devices will be able to enjoy the Huawei Cloud+ cloud storage service worth 16GB of data; Huawei is in a partnership with wireless provider Aircel for the tablet and two smartphones. Aircel will be offering 3GB of data download for three months.
No word on the exact release dates as yet but we do know the pricing. The MediaPad tablet, the world’s first 7-inch tablet running Honeycomb and powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm CPU, costs Rs. 28,359. The Ideos X3 is priced at Rs. 10,229 and Huawei Sonic costs Rs. 9,210.
The two smartphone models, by the way, have been dubbed cloud phones by the company. Both share some similarities in features, the Ideos X3 and the Sonic are powered by a 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 CPU. The former runs Android 2.3 while the latter uses Android 2.3.3. The Ideos X3 has a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen and is powered by a 1200mAh Li-Po battery good for 4 hours of talk-time whereas the Sonic has a 3.5-inch screen and has a 1400mAh Li-ion battery that can keep the phone running for 8 hours. Both having resolutions of 320 x 480 pixels.
