Coby Android 4.0 OS Tablet Collection to Launch Q1 2012
Coby, the manufacturer of budget Android tablets, has enjoyed fame with its Kyros line of tablets. It will be launching a slew of Android 4.0 ICS tablets in a couple of months. These are the 7″ MID7042, 8″ MID8042 (4:3 aspect ratio), 9″ MID9042, 9.7″ MID9742 (4:3 aspect ratio), and 10″ MID1042.
The feature set with these tablets is on the following lines – 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 CPU, capacitive multitouch screens, up to 1GB of RAM, up to 32GB external storage, Wi-Fi and HDMI 1080p output. This is perhaps the largest line-up of ICS tablets announced by a single manufacturer yet.
The MID9742-8 has the following specs – 9.7 inch screen, Android 4.0 OS, 1MP VGA front camera, 1GHz single-core processor, GetJar marketplace, 1GB RAM, and 8GB of internal storage boosted by another 32GB of external storage.
All of these are mid-priced tablets and the most expensive of the lot should not be priced more than $300.
